Back ground

Threadfin Bream fish, pla saai, is a medium-size fish. The fried fish recipe originated from fishing communities of the south of Thailand. The fish is deep fried in hot oil after marinating for couple of hours in a curry-like paste that is prepared on garlic, lemongrass, black peppercorns and fresh turmeric.

Fish is enriched with Omega 3 and protein which strengthen muscular. Turmeric is an excellent source of both iron and manganese. It is also a good source of vitamin B6, dietary fiber, and potassium. Having turmeric relieve flatulence and inflammation.

  • ½ cup fresh turmeric, sliced
  • ½ cup lemongrass, sliced
  • ¼ garlic cloves
