Background

Abb-Pla is made from fresh fish slices, mixed with ground Thai herb and ingredients then wrapped in banana leaf. Finally charcoal grilled with light heat until it is cooked.

Fish meat has rich in high protein and easy to digest. Kaffir lime skin helps to release gas in intestine, reduce flatulence and relieve colic.Turmeric can help boosting the immune system. Lemongrass relieves cough and cold.Garlic is beneficial in enhancing the growth of tissue in our body, strengthening body immune from cancer and containing a strong antioxidant.

 

Ingredients

1 Kg. of fresh fish slices

1 teaspoon of kaffir lime skin, finely chopped

40 grams Thai garlic, peeled

80 grams shallot

80 grams lemongrass

1 teaspoonshrimp paste

1 tablespoonturmeric, finely chopped

15grams bird’s eye chili

1 teaspoon of fish sauce

1 teaspoon of salt

Banana leaf for wrapping

KaengHor (Northern Mixed Curry)

Background “Hor” means combination. The dish is cooked by combining variety of food together. Formerly, GaengHor is made by cooking the leftover food, differentiate up to each local community. Pla Saai Tod Khamin (Deep fried fish with fresh turmeric)

Back ground Threadfin Bream fish, pla saai, is a medium-size fish. The fried fish recipe originated from fishing communities of the south of Thailand. The fish is deep fried in hot oil after marinating for couple of hours in a curry-like paste that is prepared on garlic, lemongrass, black peppercorns and fresh turmeric.   Nutrition facts Fish is enriched with Omega 3 and protein which strengthen muscular. Turmeric is an excellent source of both iron and manganese. It is also a good source of vitamin B6, dietary fiber, and potassium. Tom Som Pla Kabok (Sour Soup with mullet fish)

Background Num Som Nhod or Vinegar is made from Jaggery and it is created by southern people. Sour soup with mullet fish is made with Jaggery acid vinegar, palm sugar and mullet fish.   Nutrition Facts The dish contains protein, vitamin C and essential fat.
