Background

Tuu-bo is to simmer all ingredients together like sweet potato, taro, red bean and tapioca sheets. Boil all together with coconut milk and sugar, same kaeng-buad

The classic dish of Phuket dessert comes from 2 words; Tuu is pig and Bo is mother, when 2 words come together, it has meaning as “Pig Mom” It has meaning of food combination for pig’s mother to eat.

 

Nutrition facts

Sweet potatoes and taro highly contain carbohydrates and protein from red bean. When boil together with coconut milk and sugar. It will give high amount of fat. So consumption in fewer amounts is much better.

 

Ingredients

½ cup sweet potatoes, diced

½ cup taro, diced

½ cup boiled red bean

½ cup tapioca sheets

3 cups coconut milk

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon of salt

Gaeng Liang (Spicy herb vegetable soup with prawns)

Background Gaeng Liang (spicy herb vegetable soup with prawns) might be influenced by the Portugal in Siam since Ayutthaya Kingdom. The dish is made from local vegetables and herbs. It is salty and spicy from herbs and aromatic from sweet basil leaves.   Nutrition facts Gaeng Liang is a healthy dish. It is pepper hot rather than chili hot.  Proper having pepper is good for a digestion system and blood circulation system. Pumpkin provides vitamin A which helps keep your eyes healthy. East Indian Spinach (Tum luang) is high in beta-carotene which contains antioxidant. Luffa is high in Fiber. Hairy basil is high in iron and helps relive coughing and cold. Ow-Ew

    Background This is traditional local dessert of Phuket,Ow-Ew is one kind of herb which its seed is similar to basil seeds. When soak into water, it becomes mucilage, add jia-kor( agar ) to make it stable as jelly but without color. Pad Sataw Moo Goong (Stir-fried pork and prawns with bitter bean)

  Pad Sataw Moo Goong is a southern fast food and favorite dish of people. Stir-fried prawns and pork with bitter bean in shrimp paste is easy to cook but has an excellent taste.   Nutrition facts Sataw (bitter bean) grows well in the South.
